The Beginnings
Captivating Impressions was an idea ignited by RoseAnn’s youngest daughter Deanna. Deanna was to be married five short months after Tonya, and after meeting with several photographers, she asked why she needed one, when there was already one in the family. RoseAnn jumped at the chance when Deanna suggested she photograph her wedding.
RoseAnn had been photographing for many years, but it was always on the side while she held another career. However, it was her passion and she was excited at the opportunity to photograph her daughter’s wedding.
So, after much deliberation and working out the details, Captivating Impressions emerged. It was an opportunity for the Rapp women to do something creative, as well as work together, and ultimately, be able to be with their children when that day would come.
Since then, Captivating Impressions has been a blessing and a passion. Photography is what we love. It has become our creative outlet and a way to better ourselves every day.
Today, Captivating Impressions is going into its tenth year! Over the years, we have met some amazing people, heard touching stories and captured it on film. That is why our mission is “We Capture in One Moment What You Will See for a Lifetime.”
About RoseAnn
I’m all about excitement. I am so passionate about my images that when I see something I like, I yell with enthusiasm…”Don’t Move!” And my common phrase I shout without hesitation…“Perfect!” I see the shot in my mind’s eye before I even capture it on film/file. My clients, will tell you that my attention to detail is appreciated and that my artistic eye comes into play with every click of the shutter.
My style is photojournalistic. I capture the moments, the instances that happen with my subject when I’m viewing them through my lens. When a mother says, “Yep, that’s a look I know.” Then, I have captured a memory. When I photograph the personality and it is completely “unrehearsed,” I know I have captured the essence of my clients.
I have photographed the famous and the not so famous and one thing remains the same; they need to preserve memories for generations to come. Life is short and we should make sure that our loved ones have tangible images of us to carry them through their lives.
With Captivating Impressions, you know you will walk in as a stranger and stay as family, because you will forever be a part of our lives for many years to come.
RoseAnn volunteers at her church and Hospice. She donates her time, talents and treasure to families in need.
About Tonya
After graduating from Texas A&M in 2000, I married my husband and immediately moved to San Diego, California. My husband was in the military, at the time, so we moved around quite a bit.
When Captivating Impressions first started, my role was limited by distance, and my main objective was maintaining our Web site to ensure our most recent work was always visible to clients. When I visited Texas, I was always eager to help photograph events.
In 2005, my husband and I moved our family back to Texas, and it’s fabulous! I feel so blessed to be home and to be able to do what I love. I honestly cannot imagine doing anything else! For me, photography infuses creativity and passion, resulting in amazing opportunities. While I love photographing, my favorite part is what I do best, graphic editing and custom designs.
One of the perks of doing what I love is working with RoseAnn (Mom). We have a wonderful relationship both professionally and personally. People are sometimes shocked that we are related because we work so well together. We feed off of each other’s enthusiasm and ignite creativity in one another. We are constantly encouraging each other to push the boundaries and do something we have not done before.
Both RoseAnn & Tonya are active members of the Professiona Photographers of America.
